Welcome to this art journal, this journey into art.
In which, I will venture out in to the colourful, diverse and surprising world of Melbourne art for you (and me) and record my discoveries and adventures here.
Ocasionally, I might even venture further afield and include art from other interesting destinations I find myself. Sometimes, I might discover something seemingly unrelated and pop it in here to keep it safe with the other pages, snug against other posts.
Being an artist myself and having started a little community gallery ten years, I have a good base to start from. But, sometimes its hard to break out of my usual circuit of the places I know and get to some other exhibitions and art events. So, this blog is the perfect motivation, to share the stories of these adventures, after all that's one of the things their are good for.
I cant wait to start the adventure with you, are you ready to go?
So, this is an excuse to do just so, and to keep my camera batteries at the ready and to take it with me where ever I go. There is so much great art stuff out there to discover!
Tonight, my discovery was very local, an opening at Synergy Gallery the art space I run, in Northcote Melbourne. Leith Walton's exhibition brewed up a storm of Tea Djins that people were just lapping up. He had a queue of people outside when he opened at precisely 6.33 this evening.
